The new face of Land Rover Defender 2015

After more than a half century, Land Rover design the Defender with the brand new look. Outside off-roader community and 4X4/SUV enthusiast, land rover is just a regular 4X4 vehicle. However, for the adventurer, expedition and outdoor activity enthusiast even the military, it can be as important as a match. It become a crucial equipment.
And from all this british 4X4 manufacturer’ variants, Defender is the celebrity. There’s no wonder the every year this 4X4 manufacturer keep on releasing new Defender. But, there was only a minor change. Mostly it was on the small details, dan components specification. And still the famous ‘cubic-shape’ body was maintained.
Recently, they made a breakthrough. Officially, Land Rover has shown the succesor of Defender. The new Defender DC100 is completely left its classic look. According to the official site, DC100 is the interpretation of the Defender in the future. Still maintained a little bit of classic accent with the ‘cubic-shape’ body and still preserve the round shape headlight as on generations before. But DC100 use big rims with thin profile tyres just like the Range Rover or any recent vehicle. Hopefully, it doesn’t decrese its maneuver ability.
“Replacing the iconic Defender is one of the biggest challenge in the automotive design world, it is a car that inspires people worldwide. This isn’t the production-ready concept but the beginning of a four-years journey to design a relevant Defender for the 21st century”. Says Gerry Mcgovern, as the Land Rover Director of Design.
Later on, the Land Rover DC100 will be wearing a 2.2-liters diesel engine with a turbocharged four-cylinder that can burst 187 hps and 332 lbs-ft torque out. With a 8-speed (including transfercase) automatic transmission fulltime four-wheel drive (AWD) with driveline disconnect feature to decrease the feul consumption.
The Land Rover DC100 wiil be produced in 2015, so for all the Land Rover enthusast just be prepared for the Defender’s next generation. Stay tuned for more details.
